The Simple Basics of Algebra

Algebra is a branch of mathematics where it uses the concept of unknown value, or variables. Unlike arithmetic, where all the values are known in number forms, in algebra, you have to find the unknown value using the algebraic equation. In an equation, there are numerical coefficient and variables. For example, 3x, 3 is numerical coefficient and x is a variable. The combination of these numerical coefficient and variable comes up in algebraic equation. One example can be 3x+1=4. Unlike arithmetic where you have to find the answer to an equation, for algebra, you have to find the variable, which in this case, x.
