1/2 cup holiday or mini candy-coated baking pieces
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup buttermilk biscuit and baking mix
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup buttermilk biscuit and baking mix
16 foil-wrapped milk chocolate candies or white and chocolate-striped candies

In 1-quart wide-mouth glass jar with lid, resealable wide-bottomed plastic bag (the kind that stands on its own) or clear plastic gift bag, gently layer all ingredients except foil-wrapped candies. If there is space left in the jar or bag, add additional candy-coated baking pieces. Close jar or plastic bag.

In small plastic bag with twist ties or small resealable bag, place foil-wrapped candies. Tie this bag to cookie mix container with ribbon or raffia.

For gift giving, attach a gift card with the following:
Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 8-inch square pan with cooking spray. Unwrap foil-wrapped candies. Empty contents of jar or bag into medium bowl; mix well with fork. Stir 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla; mix well. Bake 28 to 32 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven to wire rack. Gently press candies evenly into top of baked cookies (four rows of four candies each). Cool completely. Cut into bars, making sure each bar has a candy on top.
